Pre-Natal

During pregnancy, a mother goes through dramatic changes both physically and emotionally.  Pre-Natal massage provides not only the nurturing touch and emotional support needed, but also reduced swelling in the hands and feet, lessens sciatic pain, relives stress on weight-bearing joints and assists in maintaining proper posture.

Hot Stone

A variation of a traditional massage, a heated stone massage utilizes hot stones, generally that are heated in 120 to 150 degree F water. A massage therapist then applies massage oils into the skin that relaxes the muscle and makes it easier for the body to absorb heat from the stones.  Your therapist will place stones on focal points of your body and massage you from head to toe, leaving you feeling calm, relaxed and rejuvenated.

Shiatsu

(90 minute session only)
A relaxing treatment that helps to restore, realign and balance the subtle energies of the body.  This therapy is well suited for fatigue, depression, gastro-intestinal ailments including migraines, fibromyalgia, arthritis, sinus infection and colic.

Cranial Sacral Therapy

This modality is a very soft, gentle and subtle style of bodywork.  It deals with restoring balance to the cranial sacral and cerebrospinal systems by applying light holding pressure to the skull and pelvis.  This style of bodywork can be very beneficial for those who have suffered closed head or pelvic injuries.

Neuromuscular Therapy

A more technical approach to massage that concentrates n specific anomalies and chronic physical conditions.  Your therapist will access your individual muscles from their origins to the insertions using a variety of techniques and even tools.  It has been found to be a very effective treatment in relieving and rehabilitating sub-acute and chronically injured tissues.

Sport Therapy

A sports massage is a good choice if you have a specific problem — a tender knee from running, for instance. It is also be a good to  help you identify and correct the movement pattern that might be causing your injury in the first place.  The therapist generally focuses in on the problem area — a frozen shoulder or pulled hamstring, for instance — rather than giving you a thorough full-body massage.

No matter what type of massage you choose, the therapist should check in with you about what your needs and expectations are for the massage.
